Mold is a widespread problem in homes and commercial properties. When suspicion arises, a professional mold test is the only reliable way to determine the extent of the issue. Here is an overview of how the Mycometer rapid test works and why it is superior to traditional laboratory analyses.

Mold can grow hidden behind walls, under floors, and in ventilation systems. Visual inspection alone is insufficient, and many spores are invisible to the naked eye. A professional test provides you with:

The Mycometer method is an enzyme-based rapid test that measures the biological activity of fungi on surfaces or in the air. Unlike traditional contact plates and laboratory culturing, Mycometer provides results in less than 1 hour – right on-site.

For surface testing, a sample is taken from the suspected surface using standardized sampling materials. The sample is treated with a fluorescent enzyme substrate, and the result is read on a Mycometer analysis unit. The value is expressed in Mycometer units and classified into three categories:
